Mission Statement
The San Jose State University chapter of ASME strives to carry on the goals and objectives of the global American Society of Mechanical Engineering community. Our mission as a student chapter is to reinforce knowledge and hard skills by application, strengthen interclub relations through collaboration, and promote the importance of soft skills through teamwork. We also provide information to our students on the academic opportunities available on and outside of campus and promote interaction between students and representatives from industry in order to further their professional development within the field.
As an organization, we are extremely diverse in knowledge, age, and skill level. While most members are obviously mechanical engineers, ASME consists of engineers of all disciplines. All those who wish to join the organization are welcome. We strongly encourage senior members to engage with younger engineers through projects and club-arranged workshops in hopes of creating a strong engineering community in both our organization and our campus. |
