NHRL 2023 College and University
Thanks to the wonderful folks from the National Havoc Robot League, we have started our own combat robotics league, called the SJSU ASME Combat Robotics League. With this grant, we'll be able to develop our own Beetleweight Cage and Robots!
We can't thank the NHRL enough for this amazing opportunity and are excited to showcase the robots we make this year! |

Minus Eye Queue Minus Eye Queue is a crusher designed around a vertical hammer weapon. Minus Eye Queue is designed to smash enemy robots with an aluminum hammer. Along with this, the hammer design is able to flip the robot if it were to be flipped. For its drivetrain, the bot uses a two wheel design at the rear with front skates to keep the bot level. Furthermore, with changeable mounts at front, the bot is able to have either front plates or front forks. The front plates are simple protection against spinners, while the front forks allow for immobilization of opponents. On the sides, flexible armor fins are able to take hits and absorb energy from impacts. With this wide array of defense, the bot is able to play against a variety of matchups! The goal of Minus Eye Queue is to crush the competition!

Glorified RoombaGlorified Roomba is a shell spinner designed around an electroplated 3D printed shell. The design of this robot allows for the shell act as a weapon as well as armor. Along with this, the spike on the top of the robot allows the bot to easily flip itself if it were to be flipped. For its drivetrain the bot uses a 4 wheel belt drive system to allow easy controls. Furthermore, through the use of a direct drive weapon system using Just 'Cuz Robotics' new JCR-4935 1000kV Battle Hardened Brushless Motor, the shell is interchangeable, allowing each of our team members to design their own shell to test for the project! The flip mechanism is also easily interchangeable. The shell is also designed with impact inserts to yield high damage to opponents. The goal of Glorified Roomba is to stay alive, run for it's life and allow the enemy to destroy itself.

Doppler EffectDoppler Effect is an agile beater bot designed for speed and manufacturability. The weapon is a beater bar designed to uproot enemies and disrupt their movement, while also dealing light damage. The bot is designed to be invertible. The drivetrain consists of two wheels at the rear, and relies on front skates to level the bot. The skates on the front also act as forks, allowing for enemy immobilization, enhancing the main weapon functionality. The versatility and agility give it an edge in combat maneuvers. The goal of Doppler effect is to out maneuver the competition, deal high damage, and be unaffected by other bots.
